29/06/24 - A couple of days into the recording of the next album, this time at Shabbey Road with the great Al Steele (of the Korgis) doing the honours. Bethan’s worked here with Al in the past and highly recommended him and the studio. Having a whale of a time, this is the fun part! Drums, clarinet, brass band to be re-done live in due course to replace the machine-generated parts put down to a click.

14/01/24 - Early in the new year we went to Birmingham to record a few songs and an interview with RawSound TV. We had an excellent time and performed three songs, 'A Life Eroding', 'G-Flat Gumbo' and 'Song For A Five-String Guitar'. 12/07/23 - UPCOMING GIGS! we're pleased to announce a few outings in the upcoming months with more dates to follow as soon as they're confirmed. We'll be going out under the name of Lyndon Morgans/Songdog and these gigs will feature Lyndon & fellow Songdog regular Karl 'Pod' Woodward (on the magic Mellotron & Nord keyboards), plus our lovely new violinist Bethan Frieze. The setlist will include songs from earlier Songdog albums reworked for the new set up, plus of course tracks from Lyndon's recent solo album "Of Gods And Men".

We were so looking forward to it and are absolutely gutted to disappoint anyone who was planning to come. 'Of Gods And Men' will be released via Junkyard Songs on 28 October 2022 and is the first LP to come out under Lyndon Morgans's own name rather than as Songdog. It'll be available in both CD and digital formats with a double vinyl album to follow at a later date. We will post presale links as soon as we have them. There'll be live dates in the autumn too - watch this space for ticket details over the next few days!

30/12/21 - Adieu, then, 2021. It was a good year for me, from early March to September we worked up the songs I’d written during the previous year’s lockdown and September through to early December we recorded said songs with Al Franklinos at Shrunken Heads - the album will appear next year and we’re currently rehearsing a live set (it’s been over two years since the last gig!). Cultural highlights for me have included the sublime Get Back, with special mentions for Nomadland and The Power of the Dog and the two volumes of Joni’s archive stuff to be released so far; the lowlights would include the mighty Charlie Watts’s passing.
Here’s to a groovy new year for all deserving one.
25/12/21 - Merry Christmas everyone! 
26/11/21 - End of week six at Shrunken Heads, one more week and we’ll be done. The mixes are sounding damned fine. Over the weekend I’ll watch Get Back, see if I can scavenge a few atoms of the Fabs’ godlike genius for Al to sprinkle over our final mixes! Will format it and get it mastered for the various media throughout the coming month and then begin the slow climb to release for next year. 2021’s been a good year for me.
08/11/21 - Started mixing the new album at Shrunken Heads today. Some backing-vocals to be recorded later in the week but essentially the parts are all done. Will be released next year and we’ll do some gigs too.
27/09/21 - Still at Shrunken Heads, toiling at another record. Going great guns thus far, Al Franklinos weaving his usual magic. This week will be about bass and drums.
15/08/21 - Here’s a song of Phil Burdett’s that he invited me to sing on a few years ago. He contributed in return a scorching vocal to my G-Flat Gumbo from the current Songdog record. Phil has a superb new album just out, Tall Tales From A Low County, highly recommended.

13/07/21 - The last album came out the very week the plague lockdown kicked in, sixteen months ago already. Felt rather like James Joyce did when the outbreak of World War II sunk Finnegans Wake! Anyway, it’s still out there on CD and vinyl for those hipsters with the musical cojones to dare an affair with it. In other news, we begin recording the next one on Sept 13th at Shrunken Heads.28/06/21 - Demos coming around for a second pass, can’t the Fates arrange more hours in a day? He was a fine journalist, one of the few to raise his pen in praise of Leonard Cohen’s masterpiece Death of A Ladies’ Man I seem to remember, and the author over the years of so many good things.
